Our luck – we’re only a 5 minute walk to an 8-plex movie theater. It has the most elegant lobby I’ve ever seen – maybe it was a stage theater originally. They have current movies, and we caught “Night at the Museum”. They list “Big Hero 6” as coming soon – in 3D. They couldn’t tell us when “soon” was, but hope its within the week, as we’ve heard good reviews 🙂 $12 got us both in, large popcorn – around $3. – Laura
By the way (BTW)–The movie had a 5 minute intermission ; that took us by surprise. -Dave

Yes, this year they can do Scientific Practices (basically the usual science project), Invention Projects (“Engineers create things that never were or improve upon something that already exits…”), Technology Projects (“Create and/or design a project using computer technology”) or Reverse Engineering Projects (“Discovering the technological principles of a device, object or system through analysis of its structure, function and operation. It involves taking something apart and analyzing its workings in detail.”) I’m guessing you’ll be happy with these enhancements to the usual science project! Right up your alley.
Fancy schmancy theater! Big Hero 6 was good. You’ll like it – features a bunch of inventor engineers. 🙂
BTW Dave, both kids picked reverse engineering projects, where they’ll be taking something (likely a motor in the shop) apart. If you are in country next year, they have a computer science option you could help with!
Do they have a computer science option this year?
